Dr. Okware’s heart for young people, women, children and the general population of indigenous people, is completely pure and unrelenting. This is part of what has compelled him to invest his time, gifts, knowledge, resources and abilities in starting up a project in Usuk, Katakwi that will enable him to dedicate ample time towards giving hope to the local communities in Teso Sub Region that anyone who has a positive attitude, a teachable spirit, resilient, open-minded and willing to rise above social constructs of success and failure, may have an opportunity to get empowered to become an agent of economic transformation in the community and by extension, inspire others to take charge of the economic destiny of their lives and families.
His great love for the community has compelled him to turn down several corporate appointments to dedicate adequate time to the community project spearheaded by Usuk Home Lands. By all standards, Dr. Fabiano Okware is leaving a legacy to those who want to learn more about how to live a life of purpose, hope and community prosperity. He makes every effort to place the possibility of economic and social wellbeing of a rural community within everyone’s reach in such places at Katakwi and the entire Teso Sub Region.
Has held a very successful and highly impactful employment career of more than 38 years, which have forever changed the lives of Millions in this country and abroad. As a leader, he has skills and gifting of an extremely high caliber. His contribution spans from the academia to different sectors of the economy starting with Uganda Railways Corporation – Marine Services (Electrical Technician), Farm Inputs (U) Ltd (Chief Milling Technician), Uganda Institute of Information and Communications Technology (Lecturer – Department of Management, Ag. Coordinator, Business Development, Research and Consultancy Centre, Ag. Deputy Principal), Institute of Corporate Governance of Uganda (Consultant), Uganda Management Institute (Associate Consultant), National Council for Higher Education (Programme Assessor, and Independent Consultant on Tertiary Higher Education Institutions, Business and Management Consultancy).
Dr. Okware is one of the outstanding leaders of the twenty-first century. His insights into matters of governance, management, capacity building and mentorship are contagious. He has served for several years as an External examiner for masters Students around the world especially pursuing or have pursued their studies from Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU) – South Africa, Ndejje University – Uganda: PhD supervision, Rhodes University – South Africa: External examiner for Master’s Degree students, to National Council for Higher Education (NCHE): Programme Assessor for University and Other Tertiary higher educational training institutions Academic Programmes. In addition to this, he was instrumental in advancing capacity building agenda for several institutions including Kyambogo and Bugema universities (Adjunct Lecturer), Member of UICT Management Committee and Governance Council, Member of Institute of Corporate Governance of Uganda, Global Member of Project Management Institute (PMI), Member of Project Management Institute (PMI) – Uganda Chapter.
Dr. Fabiano Okware is a superb writer and he has delivered marvelously on several pertinent topic and has published several articles and international conference papers and presented most of the papers at a number of International Business Conference held in the following countries, Mombasa and Nairobi – Kenya; Tropical Islands of Seychelles – Mahe Island and Victoria Falls, Zambia.
Dr. Fabiano Okware commands authority based on the wealth of practical knowledge he has acquired over the years through short term and long term studies cutting cross various fields. For instance Certificate in Training of Trainers (Uganda Management Institute), Examiner – Business and Management Courses (Uganda National Examination Board), Human Capacity Building and Re-engineering human resource in a changing environment (International Telecommunication Union), Certificate of Attendance, Pedagogical skills (Uganda Institute of Information and Communications Technology), Consultancy Skills.
Development and Re-skilling Consultancy Professionals for Business Success (Innova Management Consultancy Ltd), Certificate in Writing and Publishing for Aspiring Scholars (Kyambogo University in collaboration with African Renewal University), Certificate of Merit in Corporate Governance Practice (Institute of Corporate Governance in Uganda) and currently studying towards attainment of PMP Certification by Project Management Institute (PMI).
Dr. Fabiano Okware holds PHD in Commerce – Business Management – Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU); Degree of Masters in Business Administration (MBA) – General Management – Ndejje University; Degree of Masters in Management Studies (MMS – General Management – Uganda Management Institute; Degree of Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA), Management – Ndejje University; Diploma in Project Planning and Management (PPM) – Uganda Institute of Information and Communications Technology; Post Graduate Diploma in Management – Uganda Management Institute; and several certificates.
